Archive Fake-apple-crumble flavour isn’t something you see a lot, and there’s a good reason for that. Very odd. September 16, 2016
Archive Okay. I was expecting this to be the same disappointing ice cream shoved in a cone with a meagre amount of crumb. What I wasn’t expecting was chocolate sauce that tastes… smoky. It’s almost savoury, and it’s just horrible. Best PR effort ever getting this thing in the news. September 11, 2016
Archive A working lunch at home today…a delicious toasted sandwich made with sourdough, ham, hot Hungarian salami and Gouda from Napoli Mercato in Harrisdale. Yum! July 24, 2016
Archive So you thought Mentos only made mints? These new caramel chews are available in two varieties, filled with either plain or mint flavoured chocolate. I was excited by the mint ones, although found that the flavour didn’t really work with the caramel, and ended up preferring the plain variety. Both a good effort though ?? July 24, 2016
Archive Remember those sweet spreads from Coles? Well Woolies are in on the act too. Of course they had me at choc-orange…and I quite like these. They’re more “solid” than the Coles ones – the texture is like Vegemite – so they’re more suitable for spreading or just eating straight off the spoon than dolloping on ice-cream July 4, 2016
Archive Red Rooster have entered the pie game! There’s two to choose from – plain chicken and chicken, bacon & cheese. Alas my favourite part was the mash, peas and gravy on top – the filing was okay but the pie was let down by very tough pastry that couldn’t be cut with the plastic cutlery provided. Either take it home, or BYO cutlery June 30, 2016
Archive Delicious choc slabs that I bought at Truffle Kerfuffle from Busselton-based Artisan St Chocolates! The orange & Szechuan pepper is surprisingly subtle – keep an eye out for these at local markets .chocolates June 27, 2016
