Finally found some of this today, in my local IGA at $2.85 for a 1.25l bottle. Now I’m not a big Coke drinker, but I’ve enjoyed a “proper” Coke & espresso combo in the past so had high hopes for this. Unfortunately, I was disappointed … I’m finding it hard to describe the flavour without being brutal. Caramel and bitter, if I’m generous. Smell reminds me of an ashtray. I really don’t like it, and shudder to think how much caffeine is in it …

I like a lot of ALDI products, but their version of a Mars Bar is horrible ?? …

Margaret River’s famous Simmo’s ice cream is now available in all Coles stores and selected IGA stores throughout WA. There’s 3 great flavours – vanilla, crispy white chocolate tease (with milk chocolate malt balls) and burnt caramel swirl (unsurprisingly my favourite). Support a great local brand and add them to your next shop. …

Found these new Honeycomb Maltesers in Coles today for $3 a bag. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The smell of honeycomb when you open the bag didn’t carry through to the flavour, and after a few I wondered why I was bothering. Real balls of Crunchie would be so much better. …

I found these in the new Aveley Woolies yesterday. They are made in the UK, unfortunately they don’t have the choc-orange ones here They’re dangerously nice but unfortunately not cheap at around $6.

Stumbled across these in a restaurant yesterday and tried the lemon & lime (there’s also a plain “brewed lemon”). It seemed less sweet and fizzy than usual, neither of which are a bad thing. Worth trying if you find it.

The new KFC “Bacon Lovers Burger” has an original recipe fillet, two slices of bacon and baconnaise on a brioche bun. It’s small, and feels more like a cheap snack-type burger than a Zinger, but it’s surprisingly tasty. I’m not quite sure what the baconnaise actually tastes of, though…

Today’s lunch: a homemade bacon sandwich, made with the British Sausage Company’s new streaky bacon that I found in the supermarket today. Delicious
